A Walk in Richmond Park

This is KKL writing in for O-K. :)

DinahJee AapaJee came over one weekend to take us lucky girls in style (in her brand new shiny black Toyota Yaris) to Richmond Park! DinahJee had received inside info that the bluebells were fantastic at the moment, so we decided to close our books for a bit and enjoy the day out. This sounds a bit similar to the Japanese custom of viewing the cherry blossoms when they come out, I guess. Last year I went to Epping Forest with DinahJee to see the bluebells, as well as Kew Gardens, and so I was determined to see them again this year.

Richmond Park is huge, and I heard one can even see deer here. But we headed straight for Isabella Plantation, which sounded to me like a woodland with some planted shrubs. Or even ladang. Hehe.

Here are some bluebells, on the left a closeup, and on the right what they look like on the ground. They can look somewhat purplish when viewed from a distance. But hang on a minute, what are those glorious yellow flowers?

A friendly lady explained to us that these are azaleas. The yellow ones, she told us, seem to be fragrant, unlike the other ones further up in the plantation.

You mean there are more of these?

Yes, she said, and in more dizzying colours than these. Just head straight down the path.

Bluebells forgotten, we eagerly made our way down the designated path.

And was rewarded with this:

Anyone know what the flowers below are? They don't have any discernable fragrance. On the right are the leaves of the same tree.

And a bonus pic for O-K:

Penat sungguh nak letak gambar ni! Must do as Mama Sarah does and use Picasa :)

You guys kena datang soon... I dunno how long the azaleas are gonna last. But kalau lambat sikit boleh pergi Rose Gardens kat Regent's Park.

Er.. sebenarnya langsung takdek skill. Tu main point and shoot aje. Function camera point and shoot tu pun tak khatam lagik.

Don't let her modesty fool you.. she knows her way around cameras.. an absolute demon.. I saw the glint in her eyes as she was holding the D50....scary...the camera was practically an external organ!

WoW!

Ahahaha the only reason I know what an aperture is sebab guna microscope.

Photoshop guru would be O-K. Saya pun tanya dekat dia!

Kepada DrRozaJee, modelJee mengucapkan berbanyak terima kasihJee. Itu gambar model yang paling kecik Jee. Yang close up tak boleh tunjuk Jee nanti ramai orang terpikat (not!)

Ahahahahahaha.....
(ni ketawa macam Teatime the assassin dalam buku Terry Pratchett).

Sikalang manyak sejukJee. Weather sudah macam winter balik. Maybe bunga semua sudah kecutJee.

Heheh....had the model in the last picture been standing behind the bush of red flowers, she'd have blended in very well with the purple ones. Menyamar di sebalik bunga :P

Somehow or rather, all this Jee talk makes me think of Singhs. *walks away scracthing head trying to figure out the reason why*

Mama Pongkey said...

Haha HiyoshiJee. Memang itulah komen semua orang on that day. Tak sangka the baju sepesen dengan bunga.

*am also wondering about the Singh bit*
